Andres Bonifacio College held a Literary Competition in the afternoon of November 29, 2010 at the Amando B. Amatong Civic Center with the theme, “Curbing Corruption: Every Citizen’s Responsibility.”
As part of the mental, social, cultural, physical and spiritual enhancement of the students, the Supreme Student Government seeks and engenders relevant projects and programs of activities that develop and train potentials and encourages the advancement of talents. It also recognizes student's role in upholding the ideals of democracy, justice, freedom and nationalism. It ensures and maximizes active participation in all activities that foster unity and camaraderie among the members of the ABCollege community including those from other sector of the society.
Every department is encouraged to participate in all categories of the competition. Categories and sequences includes Impromptu Speaking, Declamation, Oration, Storytelling and Essay Writing. For the Impromptu Speaking category, the Engineering, Criminology and VTI department had no participants. No participants from Criminology and VTI department for the Storytelling and Oration category. For the Declamation and Essay Writing, only the VTI department had no participants.
The overall result of the 2010 literary competition in all of the categories were: the Nursing Department followed by the College of Arts and Sciences as the 1st Runner Up, the School of Business and Management Education was the 2ndRunner Up, Engineering department was the 3rd Runner Up, Criminology department was the 4th Runner Up, and the VTI was the 5th Runner Up.
Judges of the competition includes Vanya Q. Manamtam, Al L. Cantery and Eduardo C. Mira. The competition chairman is Cristen A. Cordova and Benjie L. Sumalpong. It was shared by many students that the 2010 Literary Competition was handled flawlessly and it gave the students not only the chance to share their intelligence but also the chance to show their individual talents.
